Hi! I am still alive, doing my stuff in UN, plus some network's work. Yesterday had my first after the entering university English classe. Those black days are really behind me, many new people are around. Gona prepare for my finals, plus summer internship. Well, all is well i would say, still keep living.

Internship

Couple of days ago, began my first internship activity in UN office in Tashkent, (Informational Center unit) the whole job I do now based on making searches and books. I am very exhausted now, have had swimming classes just some minutes ago, we were to swim for an hour, so my legs are killing me now.

So, this is the one who many years ago, when i was a little kid inspired me to study and to learn English. He is Ulugbek Davhanov, i know him since my childhood, he used to be my neighbor. That very time he was doing his classes in Uzbek Turkish Lyceum, he is English is absolutely perfect, especially vocabulary, ohhhhohh he is behind me right now trying to make some pictures of me. Now he is working in “Petronas” and “Schlumberger” oil companies. He is always full of jokes and surprises.

Those black days

Well, many weeks have passed since I last time was in my LJ. Those weeks were full of misunderstandings and failures, which made me be passive in my LJ activity. Let it call like “Akhmed’s black days.

Couple of days ago was in our “Paxtakor” stadium to support our young Olympic team, it was really awesome to be at the stadium, especially when you are shouting “Uzbekiston, Uzbekiston”, or at the same time scolding “Tepishni o’rgan axmoq”. You can hear very funny jokes by other supporters, sometimes they call foreign players, japans for instance, with our local Uzbek names like “Abdulla”, “Teshaboy”, “Boltavoy”. It is a bit hard to understand by words, you should be at the stadium to have a picture what is happening there.

From the next week I am going to begin my first internship activity. I will probably will appear in my LJ more often than I did those weeks

Well, i am in Termez again. Couple of weeks ago some friends of mine from T-town informed that we are having New Year party and we were to come to Termez.We celebrated this event in Meridian Hotel, it was really amazing night, many friends whom i have not seen for many month were there. Never forget when we were trashing potatoes (22 kg.,buying vegetables with Vasya.

Well, she is Liu Wenqin from Beijing. I met her in GYLS, she was a delegate from China.Wenqin is one of the active members of China Youth network, she was the first delagate with whom i did kind of little exchange between our networks. I was really impresed when i saw her in her national dress during the official lunch. (We still keep in touch)

Too many words to tell, but still gonna writte the key ones for me. First visit of the US, one of my dreams came true. Seating in the General Assembly Hall at the same place where our Uzbek delegates do. Meeting with Koffi Annan, Serena Wiliams. Halloween on the Time Square, visiting Liberty Island, meeting with John Bolton, official evening on the 55th floor of UN headquarters.

Workshop in da Pyramids (Tashkent)

So, there was the three-day Workshop for the MDGs (millennium development goals UNDP) activists in the Pyramids. Twenty students from the different universities of Tashkent have participated there, most of them were from the UWED, and I was one of them. I am sure all of us have spent pretty good time there, we have five trainings: “Presentation skills”, “Project writing skills”, “PR skills”, “Making research”, “Human development”.

During our out of training activity we were swimming in the pool and “Chorvak” reservoir but most of us preferred to swim in Chorvak because the water in da pool was very very cold, just Umida (3year student from the UWED) were swimming in the pool as if it had been hot bath. Jaha with Elyor aka were playing billiard till the morning, it was very interesting to watch how the play, because the more Jaha scored the more Elyor aka got nervous. But one of the most and most interesting thing (except trainings of courseJ) was playing the game like “MAFIA” (it is the most interesting game I have ever played and watched). I along with my 12 mates played that game from the midnight till 4.05 a.m. As we were playing the game in the Elyor aka’s (UWED student) room and he did not play the game, he were slipping in the hall when we were playing the game on his bed. This is my friend Hayriddin Ravshanov. First time we met each other in American Corner Termez, we were having our test for the "TOEFL" club, later on we became members of the club where we studied toefl for one year, then everything began! We participated in the FLEX (ACCELS) together, at first we passed first step together, then the second step. It was cold cold november of 2004 when Hayriddin me and his uncle went to Tashkent to the ACCELS office to gave our application forms to the accels, during our trip we also met Hayriddin brother who in that time were in the military service in Kuylyuk. After 6 month the results from FLEX were anounced, so Hayriddin passed the program and became flex aluni, he went to Arkansas state, where he lived during a year. After coming back home to Termez,(after a year of living in the USA) he won a scholarship to the Arkansas college, and he again went to the USA, but this time for four years, . And now he is still there.........

Hmm,most of my friends have their own journal, so i try to have mine. Now i am sitting in the UNDP resourse center, some of my mates are around. It is too hot in Termez, wanna go home to have a bath and sleep in this hot hot hot wether, but as two years ago Mad (peacecorp volunteer)said "it is hot but not a hell in Termez".....
